• A 25-ton gas-fired aluminum melting furnace should be evaluated by specific energy consumption, emissions, and metal yield—not by rated capacity alone. This article examines the technical and economic factors that determine real furnace performance: regenerative combustion and flue-gas heat recovery, the thermal NOx challenge created by high air preheat, low-NOx regenerative burner design, melt-loss control through tight bath-temperature regulation, refractory selection, and PLC-based combustion control. It explains why a furnace rated at ≤65 Nm³/t with high-speed regenerative burners can be a credible energy-performance proposition, but only when low-NOx combustion and integrated control logic are specified alongside efficiency. The conclusion is a practical specification framework for selecting a 25-ton furnace that remains both compliant and cost-competitive under rising gas prices and tighter emissions regulation.
